Very productive day. Due to the slope of the site we need to build up one end almost four feet. We are using rock from the river. Right down the hill across the street. Its harvested by hand from the dry bed areas. After negotiating we settled on a crew and they delivered two loads of fill and one load of stone. The team was very productive. A friend of one of the local hires was hanging out and then pitched in to help. He happens to be a stone mason. A very good one. I hired him on the spot and he took the lead. Not only did he keep the others working efficiently but he also instructed. Nice to have him for this portion of the job.
