Very recently God had been teaching me what it means to wait - TopicsExpress

Very recently God had been teaching me what it means to wait gracefully..and expectantly. What does that even mean?? Lol... I am fully convinced (after much reasoning with God on why I should be busy and not sitting still, lol) that it is for my good and His glory... Have you ever been in a place where you feel like the only answer you get from God is Wait? or Be still? I was talking with a dear friend of mine when we suddenly came to the realization that being still is quite possibly the hardest instruction some people will ever receive from God (me included) ,... You see if we are busy, we feel of use, if we are working we feel we are doing some good. But when we are simply instructed to be still, we feel very helpless and vulnerable... We fear we may never make a difference, or that our lives will be wasted... But God (I Love those two words) sees the whole picture, and waiting is usually for our benefit, even though we would like to argue that its not necessary,... It is sometimes the only way for God to reveal His true character to us, and its in the stillness when we are quiet enough to hear the rhythm of His heartbeat. It is here that he speaks beautiful healing words.... I love you more than many sparrows,... You are my favorite..... No one can love you like I can... The apostle Paul had dreamed of going to Rome and preaching the Gospel to the masses there.....but when he finally made it he was not preaching in the Colosseum....he was a prisoner... Yet he could not have known that in that time when he had no other choice but to be still, he would sit down and write what would later become the biggest part of the New Testament and impact Christian lives throughout the rest of time! But God (there are those words again) knew what He was doing..... When we make the decision to follow Christ, the path may not look quite like we thought it would... But rest assured that He sees the whole picture.... And what He wants is for us to trust Him enough to say... I will rise when you rise, and I will sit when you sit,...you lead and I will follow...no matter what the situation or circumstance, i still Trust you Lord.
