Very sad news... Earlier this afternoon, we learned that Katina went to the Rainbow Bridge. A special thank you to Margaret Ellis, who worked so hard to help Katina. Here is Katinas Rainbow Bridge posting... We dont know anything about Katina prior to November 26, 2013. That was the night she was hit by a car and taken to the Walter M. Crowe Animal shelter in Kershaw County, South Carolina. She had many people pulling for her. Katina was awaiting a rescue offer at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter in Kershaw County, South Carolina. Unfortunately, no rescue commitments materialized. All during her nearly two months at the shelter, Katina was well cared for by the staff and received lots of TLC. She was not kept in a kennel, but in the office area with the staff where she received lots of love and attention. As a result of Katina’s increasing immobility, combined with a loss of bladder control, the vet was called in to evaluate her. The vet determined that Katina’s quality of life had deteriorated to the point that she was now suffering. Based on the vet’s recommendation, the shelter staff made the difficult decision. Katina was humanely euthanized on January 21, 2014. Rest in peace, Katina. Please visit her page to continue reading about Katina: raisingaidfordogsatrisk.org/katina
