Very thankful to be alive after having a heart attack 3 weeks ago...at age 40. Cholesterol isnt crazy high, normal blood pressure, and while not the chiseled Adonis statue I once was (in my mind), I can still fit into an airplane seat without requesting the second seat belt. That said, somehow my main artery was 80% blocked, and had it not been for someone I love insisting I go to the hospital after looking more out of shape than normal on the soccer field, then I could be cruising the afterlife with a million turkeys today. The personal Facebook monologue is not usually my style, but if it makes people think twice about procrastinating that workout, eating a healthy meal instead of poaching your kids chicken nuggets and calling it dinner, taking the stress level down a notch (or 10), getting more sleep, or shaving the 15 pounds off the boiler you swear youll start working on next week so youll be as svelte as you were in high school, then it seems worth it.
