Veterans, Records: Getting your records can be difficult but doable. It is the VAs responsibility to assist the Veteran. But in the end it is the Veterans responsibility to do as much as possible because there may be information that never made it to your records finale resting place. The attached links is a help your self form(s) for tracking down records. NA form 13042 can be used to track down your records through the National Archives. SF-180 is used in requesting military records from location X. You will need to cross-reference the section that best fits you on page 3.
