Via Excitement Car Magazine: $320,000 to put CCTV cameras in an intersection in the Hinterland which is close to an hour west from the Gold Coast. The springbrook T section has been a popular spot for people to thrash their cars for over a decade. Even with the threat of being considered a criminal people will still go to this area to find an automotive release. This tells me that the risk is still more convenient than anywhere else to drive our cars in the Gold Coast vicinity. I can sympathize that the government does not want anyone putting other people in danger on our roads, but to think you can just force people to stop is just ignorant. Ros Bates, I hope you read this message. This money could be spent in FAR better ways. Instead of dumping money to push them out of one spot (and into another), perhaps consider spending it to provide better outlets for those who want to drive their cars in this manner. There will always be people that want to do what you call hooning; in this generation, the next and the one after that. Think smarter about a solution instead of just throwing money at it and the problem wont repeat itself.
