Via GMA News POEA vows decisive action for abused 13-year-old OFW in Saudi Arabia July 25, 2014 7:34am The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has vowed decisive and immediate action against those who deployed a 13-year-old girl to Saudi Arabia where she was abused by her employer. POEA head Hans Leo Cacdac made the vow in a post on his Twitter account late Thursday, after the plight of the girl was reported. We vow decisive, immediate action with respect to the case of the alleged underage and abused domestic worker, he said. Help is being sought for the 13-year-old Filipina from Sarangani, who arrived in Riyadh April 20 to work for a family but suffered abuse and maltreatment. Saudi news site Arab News reported the girl managed to escape from her employers last July 5 and sought shelter at the Philippine embassys Bahay Kalinga in Riyadh. It added the girl has suffered poor health and memory loss due to the injuries she sustained. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News MC
