Via Patriot Defence: IFAK + Combat Lifesaver Training for Ukraine “The Development, Standardization and Implementation of Tactical Medicine in Ukraine an International Conference sponsored by Patriot Defence on Jan 19-21, 2015. PRESS RELEASE 09/12/14 An international conference on “The Development, Standardization and Implementation of Tactical Medicine in Ukraine” will take place at the International Convention Center “Ukrainian House” on January 19-21, 2015. The conference is organized by the Ukrainian World Congress humanitarian initiative “Patriot Defence”. “Patriot Defence” initiative carries out tactical medicine training in the form of Combat Lifesaver Course as in the United States and NATO-member countries. The initiative has trained over 11 200 Ukrainian military soldiers and fighters of volunteer battalions since May, 2014, and over 8 300 IFAKs (Improved First Aid Kits) of NATO standard has been distributed. There are significant differences between tactical and civilian medicine. In turn combat environments also dictate what can and cannot be done in the field in order to save and preserve life. Thus, tactical medicine has been developed to provide casualty care in the areas of active conflict and evacuate the casualty to safety. At the same time, the psychological preparation of a soldier, treatment of combat injuries, both psychological and physical, and the rehabilitation process, all of which are integral part to tactical medicine. The conference will be held in the format of panel discussions and training with Ukrainian and international experts. The Ministry of Defence, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Interior, the National Guard, the State Border Service, volunteer battalions and others are invited to participate. The conference will be attended by Ukrainian medics, doctors, volunteer battalions, volunteer organizations, and representatives of military universities, military attaches, tactical medicine experts of the USA and representatives of NATO member-countries. The main directions of the conference: - Assessment of the current condition of tactical medicine in Ukraine. - Familiarization with international experience and current trends in tactical medicine. - The implementation of international experience of tactical medicine in Ukraine. - Tradeshow of Ukrainian and foreign products of tactical medicine (open to the public). Working languages of the conference are Ukrainian, English and Russian.
