Via Tony Libertad Perez On Monday October 14th 2013, Leobardo - TopicsExpress

Via Tony Libertad Perez On Monday October 14th 2013, Leobardo Meza was unjustly fired from McDonalds (1260 Park Blvd) for trying to pay for a hamburger for a homeless person. Homeless people often frequent this McDonalds location and it is common for workers to buy them food if they cannot pay for it. Leobardo, who has worked for McDonalds for the last 6 years, has recently participated in a campaign to raise wages and improve working conditions for workers in the fast food industry (the national Fight for $15 campaign). This is the first time that the management at this McDonalds has enforced their policy of prohibiting workers from purchasing food for homeless people, and it has cost Leobardo his job. Under these circumstances, it appears as though the management at this McDonalds may be retaliating against Leobardo for standing up for his rights and trying to improve his working conditions. We believe that what has happened to Leobardo is unfair, and we demand that Leobardo Meza be given back his job at McDonalds. In the event that our demand is not met, community supporters will protest at McDonalds until justice is restored and Leobardo gets his job back. The first protest will be this Thursday, join us!
