Vickey doesnt really owe me an apology to be frank. Everyone crochets differently and has skills that in areas where others dont. While I do teach crochet and etc, it is expected that not everything I teach is the text book way and over time, new ideas come to be and we evolve with the craft. In fact, it wasnt until last year I had to change the way I wrap the hook as it didnt match the pattern book instructions. It was hard to change and I realized why I should change... but technically, if I wasnt who I was... I would not have known differently and the results were still identical and I wouldnt have changed my way. Frankly speaking, there are many crocheters on The Crochet Crowd that have skills that are far beyond what I am able to achieve. I could sit here and grit my teeth at what I cannot do or just ignore the creativity of others who kick my butt... but instead... I embrace our differences and take part in the celebration of someones accomplishment instead. On the other flip side... we have crocheters that are still expanding their skills and want to learn more and we all play a part in the development of a new crocheter. The motto developed for The Crochet Crowd back in 2009 was simple. Inspire, Create & Celebrate. It was true back then... and still today. The Crochet Crowd, to me, isnt about who is better... its about the joy of sharing a common hobby... and to me... that is a beautiful thing.
