Video blog from athlete Justin Hassan IFBB Pro My name is Justin Hassan and I just recently became an IFBB Pro in the mens physique division which is pretty good considering I just started competing in April. If someone were to ask me what was the one thing I wish I knew before I started competing I would have to say it is to listen to what your body is telling you. Too many people that compete try to stick to a specific plan whether it be dieting, lifting or cardio and ignore what their body tells them in hopes that at the end of it there body fat levels have dropped and they will be lean, ripped and stage ready. I, myself am even guilty of this during my prep for my first 2 shows where I stuck to a plan to the tee for 5 weeks and brought my body fat down to 5% but I was miserable, low on energy and in the process lost pounds of muscle. During my last prep I took a different approach allowing myself a full cheat day up to 4 weeks out of my show and then a cheat meal whenever I felt like my body needed a reboost and the results were just what I wanted. I stepped on stage 6 pounds heavier than my previous show, leaner , tighter and fuller so dont be scared to feed yourself or have a cheat day if your body is telling you to do so. Listen to it and Im sure your body will thank you and you will be pleased with the results.
