Subject :- Petition to contest the inclusion of Mr. P.N.C Menon’s name in this years nominees list for the Padmasree award . Respected Sir , I, Vidhya Sangeeth am the elected member of Thrissur District Panchayath in Kerala State for the last 4 years. I would humbly like to bring to your attention the following matter regarding the inclusion of Mr. P.N.C. Menons name in the Padmasree award nominee list. A person who is even considered for the Padmasree award in our country is expected to be a law abiding citizen ,without any criminal background. Mr. P.N.C. Menon acquired a vast extent of paddy field land in Puzhkkal village in Thrissur District and illegally converted the 65 acres of paddy field into posh residential housing area named Sobha City without taking into consideration the environmental hazards and blockage of drinking water to the general public, due to this illegal conversion of the paddy land. All this construction was done totally violating the “Kerala Conservation Of Paddy Field and Wet Land act 2008. According to this act, a person is only allowed to convert10 cents of paddy field within the Panchayth limit for constructing a home for himself. Here P.N.C.Menon does not have the legal permission to carry out his business of construction of Flats and Villas. The conversion of paddy field was illegally done on orders received by various other people and all these illegal activities had the backing and total support of the ruling UDF Government in the State of Kerala. This is in total violation of the “Right to Equality Before Law and Equal Protection by the Indian Constitution because here it shows that the Law is different for the poor common man and a rich man who can influence the Law and the entire Governmental system. This should be avoided at all cost. As the Prime Minister of India, I humbly request you to look deeper into this matter. I am a member of the local body, Thrissur District Panchayath from the Mulamkunathukavu Division. The Kolazhy village panchayath comes under my constituency and it is here that Mr. P.N.C Menon who is the chairman of Sobha Group and the subsidiary companies is illegally converting 19 acres of paddy field (the letter continues..... )
