Vietnam Heritage Mar 2014 (Events) (No.1, Vol.4, Jan-Feb 2014 Vietnam Heritage Magazine) OTHER Festival of India in Ho Chi Minh City 6-15 March The Embassy of India in Hanoi, the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City and the Ministry of Culture of India in coorperation with Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Buddisht Sangha and the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations will be organizing a ‘Festival of India’ in Ho Chi Minh City from 6-15 March to promote cultural linkages between the two countries. The program will offer: -The Buddhist Exhibịtion ‘Dharam Darshan’: illustrate the life and teachings of the Buddha. A number of Buddhist Artifacts will be on public display from 6-14 March, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Fine Arts Museum of Ho Chi Minh City, 97A Pho Duc Chinh St, Nguyen Thai Binh Ward, Dist.1, Ho Chi Minh City. Free entrance. -Buddhist Festival: A group of monks from India will perform Lama chanting, sacred Lama dance, prepare a sand mandala and butter sculpture. Pho Quang Pagoda: 64 Pho Quang St, Tan Binh Dist., Ho Chi Minh City. 7 March, 7 p.m. Vinh Nghiem Pagoda: 339 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia St, Dist.3, Ho Chi Minh City. 8 March, 9 p.m. -Yoga classes: Two Yoga teachers from India will give classes cum demonstrations at Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisation, 31 Le Duan St, Dist.1, Ho Chi Minh City. 11 March: 6.30-8.30 p.m.; 12 March: 7-9 a.m.; 13-15 March: 6.30-8.30 p.m. Free entrance. Register: [email protected]; friendship.hufo@gmail; vyogaworld@gmail . -Folk dance: The eight-member folk dance troupe ‘Kalbelia’ from the Rajasthan State of India will perfom at Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisation. 12 March, starts at 7.30 p.m. Free entrance. -Food Festival and Henna (Mehendi) Art: Indian dishes prepared by Indian chefs at Saigon Café, Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers in Ho Chi Minh City. There will be a special performance of the Rajasthani Folk dance troupe and Henna (Mehendi) hand painting to be presented of a Henna artist on 13 March.
