Vigilance-probe necessary in unauthorized car-parking in Chandni - TopicsExpress

Vigilance-probe necessary in unauthorized car-parking in Chandni Chowk (Delhi) Despite repeated complaints made on Delhi Police website about some cars regularly parked for years now uninterrupted for the full day secured by police-barricades outside Nai Sarak (Amir Chand Marg) in no-tolerance zone of Chandni Chowk attracting fine of rupees 600, nothing is done by concerned staffers of Delhi Traffic Police in this regard. These cars disappeared soon after the complaint was registered first time but only for some few days. Thereafter these cars again started to be parked at the same place with some of these duly covered with car-covers. Neither any crane lifts these cars not their wheels are clamped by Delhi Traffic Police. Delhi Police should make it clear if some special permission is granted to these cars parked throughout the day on all working-days of the week mentioning the rules and reasons for giving any such permission. Or else, a data should be produced revealing number of times these cars were challaned and fined for being parked in no-tolerance zone mentioning also number of crane-lifting and wheel-clamping of these cars. In case no permission is granted and/or no crane-lifting/wheel-clamping is done, then the case should be handed over to Vigilance Department for taking strict-most action against corrupt staffers on whose behest these cars are parked under security of police-barricades in no-tolerance zone of Chandni Chowk (Delhi). Cars so parked should be impounded with their owners put to stiff interrogation for making them reveal name/s of staffers of Delhi Traffic Police if taking bribe-money from owners of cars parked in an unauthorized manner. Delhi Traffic Police should also ensure removing all goods/encroachments removed from footpaths and roads of important connecting roads of Chandni Chowk namely Dr HC Sen Road and Ramchandra Dehlvi Marg (formerly Esplanade Road) making these roads also no-tolerance zone in respect of car-parking attracting penalty of rupees 600 with wheels clamped of cars found parked on these two roads, for smooth traffic-flow on both the lanes of these two roads for all the 24-hours of the day.
