Vince Slominski, Disaster Management Program Director, along with his instructors Frances Melton and David Spruiell lead teams through an exercise about communicating with the media..it was eye opening lesson in being prepared to say the least. Each team was given a different scenario and nominated who would be their Public Affairs POC to address the media. After discussing their assigned scenario, the exercise continued with a mock press conference. The audience, who role played as the media, asked questions about the scene - - needless to say, each Teams Public Affairs POC was challenged. Another lesson in the importance of WHAT and HOW you communicate!
