Violence at Kathiparathadam as , the Indian (Malankara) Orthodox faction tried to occupy the St George Jacobite Syriac Orthodox church , Kathipaarathadam. Cheruthoni , Idukki , Kerala , India: The excommunicated schismatic Indian (Malankara) Orthodox factioneers tried to illegally enter the Kathipaarathadam St George Jacobite Syriac Orthodox church compound hoping to establish their non existent rights in the Syriac Orthodox parish.This resulted in the increase of tension in the area.Yesterday (23rd, December , 2014) , morning 9.00 am , the Indian (Malankara)Orthodox faction priest ( he was with the Syriac Orthodox Church , but fell to the schismatic Indian (Malankara) Orthodox faction some years back) and trustee along with 15 Indian (Malankara)Orthodox faction gangsters entered the Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite) church compound.They destroyed the crops cultivated by the poor Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite) parishioners and cut down the tress in the church compound .They tried to construct an illegal structure in the Syriac Orthodox church compound. The poor Syriac Orthodox ( Jacobite) faithful of the church assembled in their church , to protect their church from the Indian (Malankara)Orthodox factioneers trying to occupy their church .The Indian ( Malankara)Orthodox faction then stopped the construction and attacked the innocent Syriac Orthodox faithful.The police tried to intervene in the situation.Many of the Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite) faithful were hurt in the Indian ( Malankara)Orthodox faction attack. Informed of the attack of his sheep fold , the Shepard of the flock ,Idduki diocesan Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite) metropolitan His Grace Mor Philexinose Zackarias , rushed to the spot , to support the persecuted Syriac Orthodox faithful.His Grace Mor Philexinose , then started a fast , for the repentance of the Indian (Malankara)Orthodox factioneers , trying to occupy the Syriac Orthodox church.The brother Syriac Orthodox metropolitans his grace Mor Athanasius Elias and his grace Mor Anthimose Mathews and Syriac Orthodox priests Rev Fr George Vayaliparambil, Rev Fr Eldhose Kakakadan, Rev Fr Shanu Paulose and the Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite ) Indian laity trustee Mr Thampu George Thukalan also reached the spot , as directed by the canonical Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite) Catholicose His Beatitude Mor Basilios Thomas I , to show their solidarity in the struggle of the Syriac Orthodox faithful . As the situation got worse ,discussions were held with Thodupuzha Deputy Supertintendent of Police Sabu Varghese and Idukki Thalsidar (government official).As a result of this discussion the Indian ( Malankara)Orthodox faction agreed that they will desist from the any illegal construction in the Syriac Orthodox church compound.The District administration said that they will mediate with the excommunicated schismatic Indian (Malankara)Orthodox faction to prevent any more attacks to the Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite) church at Kathiparathadam.The Indian ( Malankara)Orthodox faction has been fined Rs 50,000/- for the damages caused to the crops cultivated by the Syriac Orthodox faithful.This amount will be given to the Syriac Orthodox parishioners. Metropolitan his grace Mor Philexinose then broke his fast.Anticipating further trouble , police is camping in the area. In spite of all these problems , HG Mor Philexinose Zacharias said he is ready for a compromise .He has said that Syriac Orthodox church at Kathipaarathadam is ready to give 50% of its land( owned fully by the Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite) church ) to the Indian ( Malankara) Orthodox faction.All this is a part of the Indian ( Malankara)Orthodox faction to occupy all the Syriac Orthodox churches and thereby annihilate the Syriac Orthodox faith from India.Recent problems is to be read along with the upcoming visit of the head of the Syriac Orthodox Church head His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Ephrem II. It seems that indian ( Malankara)Orthodox faction wants to prevent the visit showing the eruption of law and order problems in Syriac Orthodox churches , targeted by the Indian (Malankara)Orthodox faction.
