Click youtu.be/9VaTDvBo_zI I wanted to let you all know that this passed weekend I took off for the first time here since I started this page in Jan 2011. Today was my Dads Birthday, 2 weeks ago my Mothers.. I guess I am not like most people, it has been a hard two weeks. I miss them both more than words can say. My Mother died suddenly. My dad battled a 2 year illness, with all he had. He and I talked about the fact that his illness was no longer treatable. Once in the hospital, my Daddy told me that dying was the loneliest place he had ever been. He knew is was leaving his family behind, and wanted to know that we would be ok, mostly my sweet Mother, he was so concerned about her being alone. I told him on the eve of his death that it was ok to let go, stop fighting, as he lay in that hospice bed.. We would all be along shortly to join him one by one, he would not wait long for his family. We cried, shared things from our past, and my daddy shared things with me that I never knew just before his death. Funny how when they know they are going home, there is so much to say.. Being the only daughter in our home, this song brought me to tears, as I listened for the first time. Knowing that I was not the only one that had been down this path, nor will I ever be. Our parents teach us about life, love, sharing, as a youngster. As we get older they become our friends as well. And they are your best friends, and will never steer you wrong.. If your parents are still here call them, hug them, tell them you love them, and thank them for all the wonderful things they have done for you, in your lifetime.. ~Debbie~
