Visiting the UK again has turned me into a massive bore. Im now talking about whats better in the UK to Finns and pointing out all the stupid things about the UK to the Brits, thus thoroughly annoying both nationalities. :) Had a great time in London and Hastings though. Perhaps because its been so long since Id been back, but I found myself appreciating the good bits and not getting so wound up by the bad. The kids had a wonderful time and it was great to have them spend time hearing so much English. Highlights: People actually talking to each other. Wow, living in Finland I forgot people do that. Cheers mate! Customer service - also forgot people could be friendly and helpful while selling your stuff. Food! So much choice, so much better, so cheap. Pubs! So much lovely beer Im magically not allergic to. Actual pints. Cold cold pints. Cheap. Loads of shops with lots of variety and real sales of more than 5% off. CHOCOLATE. Lowlights: No air-conditioning, anywhere. (Loads of things in general just dont work). Lots of English people who dont really speak recognisable English (esp in Hastings) aka horrible slang. Travel costs 4x more and you enjoy it about half as much. Constant TV ads for things I wish didnt exist. Everyone is really angry about people on benefits, its so weird. Until next time!
