Visual art standards: So, apparently, putting a 340 boulder on display in an art museum is art. artandcointv/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/boulder.jpg ... and apparently an all white painting earns its place in an art museum. sfmoma.org/images/artwork/medium/98.308.A-C_01_B02.jpg I dont get it. Why are there no standards? If I wrote an essay that was just 5 words over and over again, couldnt that be accepted in national writing competitions? If I went to the Olympics and fell off a beam with style does that mean I get a high score? No, it doesnt. So why are other things actually viewed with objective measures and not art?
