Viva Senyor San Miguel! The Guerrero and the lore surrounding the Archangel mirror the Iliganun image and worldview built around a history of colonization and conflict. Around the world Michaelmas is celebrated today, but Iligans celebrations are special as the dynamics of culture amidst the surrounding bangsas of Moroland have nurtured a unique indigenous character of the Senyor. In the celebrations, four major ritual expressions manifest these qualities: pagkanaug, diyandi, comedia (yawa-yawa), and the sinulog. Viva! (photos not mine, shared from web postings)
