Vol. 67 Day 3 9/3/14 Dear Son and Daughter, As we continue with this week’s Torah study look at these next two verses: Deuteronomy 23:15-16 You shall not give back to his master the slave who has escaped from his master to you. He may dwell with you in your midst, in the place which he chooses within one of your gates, where it seems best to him; you shall not oppress him. Have you ever had someone escape a life threatening situation and come to you? About thirteen years ago, that is exactly what happened to me. All of a sudden I had a responsibility that affected me for months. I had absolutely no idea of this Torah principle, this teaching and instruction of Yahweh’s. All I know is I personally out of compassion, I felt responsible to do what Jesus would do. Here is a New Testament promise which originated in this week’s Torah portion: Luke 10:25-37 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said to him, What is written in the law? What is your reading of it? So he answered and said, YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, and YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. And He said to him, You have answered rightly; do this and you will live. But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor? Then Jesus answered and said: A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you. So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves? And he said, He who showed mercy on him. Then Jesus said to him, Go and do likewise. Every promise we find in the New Testament, the Brit Chadashah, is merely a repeat of an instruction found in the first five books of our Bible. Eighty five percent of our New Testament is found in the Torah, the teaching and instruction given to us through Moses. Last year there was a group of people who were beaten up and wounded. Again, I could not pass by, but personally by the Ruach HaKodesh was required through compassion to invest time, and energy, to see these precious lives restored and set back on a path to life! Today they are forerunners for taking Torah to the Nations in the state of Montana! Yahweh’s teaching and instruction is life! It is not law! The law of sin and death is what we have been set free from! That law of sin and death is the lie that we are not to live out Yahweh’s teaching and instruction! Those first five books instruct us, as a redeemed people, how to live a redeemed life style, how to live like Yeshua did! Yahweh’s Torah is the Tree of Life! Tifereth! Glory! Romans 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Do you know any ritual harlots, or perverted ones of Israel? Deuteronomy 23:17 There shall be no ritual harlot of the daughters of Israel, or a perverted one of the sons of Israel. If our worship is assimilated with any pagan ways we could be a harlot of the daughters of Israel, or a perverted son of Israel. When pagan ways are mixed with Yahweh’s ways it is called syncretism, and it causes us to miss the blessing of the covenant. I have said many times, I don’t want to miss being the bride! I don’t want to just attend the wedding! When we obey the teaching and instruction of Yahweh’s Torah we are making ourselves ready. Revelation 21:2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Our preparation our adorning for Yeshua is found in the Torah. Love and Prayers, Mom
