Voluntary voting is the hot ticket item that the Tories are desperate to introduce. Abbott would sell his arse to have this introduced. They know that there is an element of the working class that are apathetic and careless in regard to voting and would rather be in the pub, meat pie in one hand, a schooner in the other and watching the football. The Tories know that if they can disenfranchise a segment of this demographic (by their own choosing not to participate) than they will retain power. If such voluntary voting is ever introduced it will be less than a decade before we are living in a society of serfdom and slavery.
