Volunteer Coordinator Do you have a passion to help others and a desire to play a significant role in the growth of an organization? If you do, then we have just the opportunity for you! The New Brunswick Association for Community Living (NBACL) is looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual committed to the vision, values and philosophy of inclusion. Under the direction of the Director of Finance, HR & Office Administration, the Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the recruitment and management of volunteers, working to enhance the culture of volunteering at NBACL, while helping to fulfill the growing needs of the organization. The coordinator will work closely with all staff, Board and Committee members, volunteers and community stakeholders to ensure a valuable experience for all. This is a 40 hour/week salaried position located from our provincial office in Fredericton. Roles and Responsibilities: Development and implementation of volunteer policies, screening and procedures; Recruitment, orientation, monitoring, support, motivation, training and leadership development to volunteers; Identification, development and maintenance of current volunteer opportunities and role descriptions; Coordination of various Volunteer Appreciation Events; Development and maintenance of a volunteer database; Development and implementation of a volunteer recruitment and retention strategy; Promotion of volunteer opportunities through social media, website, community presentations, etc. Qualifications and education requirements: Graduate of a recognized post-secondary institution in a related discipline within the last 4 years and must provide diploma or certificate of such; Must be unemployed and be residing in New Brunswick or be willing to establish residency in New Brunswick. Demonstrated experience working with and managing volunteers; Strong computer skills and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle necessary for work related duties and the willingness and flexibility to travel throughout the province; Current and valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Persons Check is required; Fluently bilingual. Essential Skills: Positive and professional attitude with the ability to work as part of a positive team in a fast paced environment; Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational, communication and time management skills; Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills; Works efficiently in both independent and group settings, often juggling multiple tasks or projects simultaneously and maintains flexibility while doing; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to foster establish and maintain strong effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; Volunteer experience; Knowledge of volunteer database management will be considered an asset; Please clearly indicate your language capabilities and relevant volunteer experience in your cover letter.
