Volunteer Training next Saturday - November 30th. Hi - TopicsExpress

Volunteer Training next Saturday - November 30th. Hi Volunteers! Welcome to a new ski season. It may not seem like it right now, but the snow at Arctic Valley is slowly building up and we hope to be opening soon. We know that you will be tired of turkey and shopping by next Saturday, so how about coming up to the first volunteer training of the year! This training will cover volunteering basics followed by our lift operator clinic including chair evacuation training. For those of you that want to volunteer for non-lift positions, we will also have lodge training that runs concurrently to the lift training. All volunteers must attend the basic orientation even if you simply want to shovel snow on powder days. Sign in and required paperwork will be at 9:30am and training and orientation will start promptly at 10:00am. Basic volunteering and lift training will run from 10:00 am to about 5:00pm. Lodge only training will run from 10:00am until about 12:30 or 1:00pm. You do not need any experience to volunteer - we will train you to do whatever tasks you want to take on as a volunteer. Returning Volunteers Please Note: ALL volunteers must take the chair evac training and must watch the infamous Chair lift video. We recommend that returning volunteers take the entire Lift orientation course. Remember that volunteers get awarded lift passes for time spent volunteering. Training counts! Everyone that completes the training will get a one-day lift pass for the upcoming season. We will provide pizza and drinks for lunch. If you know you will make it, please RSVP back to this email and let us know so we can have enough food. If you cant make this training, we will holding additional training through the season. See you there, John Koltun President & Volunteer Coordinator Anchorage Ski Club
