Volunteer day is a GO for Saturday 10am - 1pm! Look for Brian/Jeff and Kelly (my wife) to be there to help with the planning for the day. We discussed it tonight and we are going to try to get one of two chippers either from Yard Gear or from NBTrails. If we get the chippers then we will take a run up the outbound trail to chip the branches and clean some of the debris up. If we do not get the chipper there is 250-300ft of the end of the outbound trail... yes we made it to the end of the outbound... that needs to be stacked/sorted/trimmed. We are also considering cutting a segmented line to cut the trail into two options which will be rerouted before Saturday. We have had a ton of rain so if we can not clear across the back of the property or out the new trail then we can work on the ridge trail which will be out of the wet areas. Thank-you Brian for scoping out the trail and thanks Jeff/Brain for braving the trails after the mega storms this past week. Please watch the facebook page or the GoHanwell.ca site for park announcements. Unfortunately I am in Saint John this Saturday so I will miss out on the progress and fun... Looking forward to hearing about the day so please send me your comments, pictures, etc... I will look forward to seeing them when I get back and toss a few up on facebook so people can see what we are up to. Also heard today that the Hanwell Rural Community will NOT be with Kingsclear and the vote December 2nd will be "Do you want Hanwell to be a Rural Community" essentially changing our status from the LSD of Hanwell to the RC of Hanwell and additional access to use the tax dollars we pay back into our community vs off to some other government budget. This will hopefully also be good news for our park and other Hanwell initiatives as it will enable more access to some of the 100,000s we pay in tax dollars each year. Good luck on Saturday and I have already received some feedback from volunteers that they are looking forward to Saturday so come one come all... bring your family, friends, co-workers and lend a hand... the temperatures are better vs the summer days we hacked through the trails... You can find the park across from Eaglewood Subdivision (look for the huge Hanwell Recreational Park sign and take the first right onto a dirt road).... or look on google maps for "Hanwell park lane"!!!! I had it registered for our use... on Google Maps... thanks everyone Chris Weadick
