Volunteers Needed For Citywide Clean Up on September 4th Posted on 08/23/2013 10:37 am On Wednesday, September 4, 2013, the Wilmington We RISE campaign will kick off with a citywide cleanup effort from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m, followed by a press conference and celebration in Rodney Square beginning at 4:00 p.m. Cleanup volunteers will clean various designated areas throughout Wilmington. The RISE campaign was created through the vision of Mayor Dennis P. Williams and his Administration to enrich and enhance the community of Wilmington through a hands-on approach that rests on three pillars: Clean, Safe and Smart. We are asking community members to volunteer and act as RISE ambassadors by helping clean up the City. Volunteers are expected to clean a minimum of one hour during the allotted three hour cleaning period. All volunteers will receive a Wilmington We RISE t-shirt and a RISE wristband. If you are interested in serving as a RISE Ambassador and volunteering for the citywide clean up please reply by Friday, August 30th. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact Alexandra Coppadge via email at [email protected]. On the day of the event, volunteers should report to the Louis L. Redding City/County Building to receive clean up location, along with RISE t-shirt and wristband. The designated clean up locations are listed below: Concord Avenue (200 - 500 blocks) Market Street (2300 - 2800 blocks) North Union Street (400 - 700 blocks) Governor Printz Boulevard (2200 - 2800 blocks) West 4th Street (700 - 1100 blocks) North Lombard Street (400 - 700 blocks) Maryland Avenue (900 - 1200 blocks) New Castle Avenue (300 - 600 blocks)
