Volunteers Needed. Tomorrow, Sunday September 29th is BC Rivers Day. Honour, Heal, and Celebrate the Shuswap River! 10am: Opening ceremonies with honoured guests Area F Director Jackie Pearase, City of Enderby Mayor Howie Cyr, Splatsin Chief Wayne Christian, and Splatsin Councillor Randy William. 11am - 12pm: Educational talks on environmental issues, river history, riparian zones, and more, from the Enderby & District Museum, Regional District of the North Okanagan, Kingfisher Interpretive Centre, and the Lower Shuswap Stewardship Society. Also feature BC Hydro Smart Team. 1pm: Music by the River 7pm: Lantern Float. Free coffee from Country Coffee House for volunteers. Free lunch from Asphalt Grill for volunteers. Volunteers must bring garbage or recycling to get your lunch ticket! Garbage bags, recycling bags, gloves, and maps will be provided.
