Vote The Children First Team - Gina Verdibello (5H), Lorenzo Richardson (1H) and Gerald Lyons (7H) on November 4th. We will fight for accountability and transparency to make our schools the best that they can be. My first three goals are to return to monthly committee meetings, return to videotaping public comments and stop wasteful spending. The board needs to know what is going on in the district and the monthly committee meetings were the best way to share that information. They have been stopped. The public has the right to know how the board is spending 667 million dollars each school year. Public comments are no longer videotaped or shown on public access TV so we have no record of them. The board does not have the right to waste up to $10,500 each school day on fees to a private company to give us our own subs back nor give private consultants up to $1,800 per day to tell us how to make our schools better.
