STATE MEASURES: Proposition 1: Yes. Water bond (Absolutely essential. Highly recommend). Proposition 2: Yes. Dubbed the “rainy day” proposition. Good prop. Proposition 45: Yes. Gives the State Insurance Commissioner veto power on rate increases. Insurance companies are spending a fortune trying to defeat this proposition. Deserves a “yes” vote. Proposition 46: Yes. Insurance companies are spending a fortune trying to defeat this Proposition 47: Yes. Changes felony charges to misdemeanors for certain minor offenses. This would be of great help for many young men and women. A felony charge greatly impedes a person seeking employment. I fervently urge you to vote “Yes.” Proposition 48: No. Indian Gaming Compact Referendum. This would allow certain Indian Tribes to buy property to build a casino anywhere in California. COUNTY MEASURE P: Yes. Safe neighborhood parks, gang prevention, youth/senior recreation, beaches/wildlife protection measure. Highly important for a civilized society.
