Voting in the Mansa Central by-elections conspicuously marred with voter apathy has officially closed. The voting that started on a low not at 06:00 this morning closed at 18:00 hours this evening. The 94 polling streams with over 56,624 registered voters openly recorded a low voter turn out And participating political parties have attributed the low voter turn out to poor sensitization by the Electoral Commission of Zambia. The United Party for National Development –UPND- is represented by Mwiche Chikondi Rosemary, Movement for Multi-Party Democracy –MMD has Kapolyo Malama, United National Independence Party –UNIP has Charles Mwela while FDD has Alfred Mwape. The Patriotic Front –PF- has filled in Dr. Chitalu Chilufya. The Mansa Central seat fell vacant following the death of area Patriotic Front Member of Parliament Kennedy Sakeni.
