WAFFLE THIRTY SEVEN page 37 smell,s has a kid smell,s were everywhere from getting up for school smelling breakfast your house on full speed you use to want to go to school just for the warmth of the radiator,s lean against them take off your woolly gloves your nan made u who else use to bite the mitts just one thread than the whole lot use come apart u have your own peg p for paul picture of a animal my was a deer we had a printers down our rd in effie rd would sit out the back on the fire exit watch the train,s go through the tunnel to fulham broadway hear the machine,s smell the ink lovely smell than the electric current has the train pulled its break,s to slow down see the spark,s come off the rail,s i use to day dream a lot wonder what i,ll be in life will life accept me the way i was no left arm how would i cope in life how will people see me at an early age decided to hid my condition few close mates knew but i never wanted anyone to know has i got older my confidence grew maybe has a kid did n,t want no one to know kid,s can be spiteful and i did n,t want to be the butt off the joke all the time use to think a head so i would n,t get caught out . this is a pick & mix waffle my head,s full off stuff so what u read is what u get ok lol the laundrette end of barclay rd use to go in there saturday morning with the sheets use to slide in the washing baskets from one of the shop to the other if you wanted to go to the toilet use to have to go behind the big dryers through a door sign saying don,t touch the pipes will burn u it was adventure even back than to go a wee so hot small cubicle forget on the way out scarred for life my mum worked at fulham baths on the ticket machine where u get your green stub a wrist banned i luved that place the corridor changing room,s women and children boy,s than men,s where u going to the men,s changing room why cause i,m 10 lol ... see now that was a corridor for a washing basket u could slide for miles the smell of that place will stay with me for ever the clean sheets to the smell of the pool that era will stay with me . a smell that i like is the smell of stale beer from the night before walking past a pub on the way to school i just stand there waiting for my mum she alway,s said what u doing nothing every day from monday to friday i did that a chip shop smell is such a warm feeling in the winter touch the stainless steel it was like a pub without the booze packed u never minded waiting mum waffling u on the space invades time to go paul u never messed about u were told once if u never came first time it was like wait until u get home my boy luved fish a chip,s but i had to make my way up to it first it was sausage in batter than chicken and mushroom pie in a gold tray red for steak & kidney than cod cause i was young and the bones had to be careful . my dad in later life smoked a pipe smoked clan i would put my head into his baccy and just sniff away i use to buy him all different one,s cherry baccy smelled so nice . we had an cast iron bath could get a football team into it would get lost so deep once yrs ago my let,s say friend was hiding from the police he was on my roof i said quick get in here put him in the bath put a white sheet over him the police came into my house never see him what a bath lol . my imagination was totally different i could n,t play conkers cause of my hand so i use to tie a string and conker to the rallies early in the morning i would get into training myself so i could play my dad looking out the window and smile at me knowing i was trying so hard to make my arm work i was about 11 said to my dad how do u make cement he showed me i made a 2 brick high square in my garden got a tennis ball used it to keep the ball on the ground control it from all direction,s so i was quicker i wanted to play but i never got a look in every other kid,s dad was a flash prick cab driver,s full off well u know we never had much second hand boot,s clothes so never fitted in why because i was a much better footballer than there children so i trained myself got my own team of misfits what a team if u ever wanted to make a film this was it we were good but untrained no manager few were on chelsea book,s and fulham,s i will remember those day,s with great fondness right where was i smell ner smelled great in the morning fresh flowers fruit bread but in the evening different story it stunk rotten food dropped on the rd car,s going over it left there all day funny we never went with out always had fresh fruit veg every day cheap has chip,s obviously money was tight back than but u got by in anyway u could i did n,t care eating bean,s on toast has long has we were happy you were made to be like that from an early age family respect honour amongs friends : ) x
