WAITING.... Proverbs 13:14 Hope deferred makes the heart sick. But when desire comes, it is a tree of life.. In a culture where waiting is almost extinct, it is one of the main things God uses to transform our lives. He makes us wait...in the waiting is the weaning.. Remember when you were a child and you wanted a new toy...did your parents say...wait, or well see, and you found that acceptable because while they didnt say no there was always the hope of yes. If you didnt change your mind a bazillion times then your parents could assess...I think he/she really wants that toy. As a believer we want a quick fix, a magic wand to zap us from where we are to where God desires us to be. Transformation is a process. We say,painless as possible please... Thats not Gods way. I have found the greatest growth in my walk has come through pain and suffering. Through lack and want. Through walking through it with Him, as opposed to avoiding it altogether with no need for Him. We do not have a protective Father God, perse..in the sense that He might shield us from everything, yet He is purposeful in everything. He protects us just not in the way we think. For example , He wont give us what we want , but what we need. He is less interested in our personal happiness and deeply intentional about our personal holiness. Personal holiness comes through deep abiding intimacy in the ONE who is Holy...God in us. He will not remove us from life experiences, personal suffering, tragedy, etc in order that we may be happy and trouble free, but rather navigates us through that He might display His power and glory to a watching world and that You and I may KNOW HIM, that we might display His likeness, as we experience His faithful love, and perfect peace in the worst of circumstances. After all that is the only thing that would make us different than the rest of the world...How we respond in those moments. This life is not about us...we make it about us...There is a shift that needs to take place often from self focus to Christ focus.. Are you looking for a drive thru breakthrough?? Are you looking for a microwaveable manifestation of His power...2 min-press start! Are you looking for a way out instead of a way through?? Are you looking for a pain free way to break free?? Are you looking for life enhancement as opposed to life replacement?? Are you looking for a cross that you can buy, as opposed to the cross that bids you to die? The word waiting is used 25x in the Psalms, and 11x in Isaiah Waiting for definitely exudes this sense of confidence, but it is more than this. Waiting for focuses on the sense of expectation one has on the object. When one waits on the Lord, a person is dependent upon that person or something that the person will do. When we wait upon the Lord, we find ourselves looking to Him to help for some specific need. There is a conscious expectation that He will help us out in that special need. We do not have control over the circumstances and therefore are looking to His provisions, His protection, etc. In each case, though, it is good to notice our special need, recognize that He can help us in that area and then cast our hope in Him. Waiting upon God is not only biblical but a necessary part of the Christian life for the growing Christian. Wait for is an active display of faith in God during impossible situations. I am very interested in the process of things...how things are built, how things are made, how life unfolds over time...If your like me...its all happening a little different that one could ever have imagined, and yet God has already been where I am headed...He is leading me..I trust Him! There is work being done in the waiting, just because you cant see it doesnt mean its not happening.. In the end , you can determine if you want to endure the waiting and find yourself, On fire, perfected by it, prepared for, and passionate for the ONE whom you wait upon, and purposeful as He intends for you to be...for the Kingdom and for His glory!
