WANTED: A FEW GOOD MEN Hey team, as some of you know, well have many Whippets representing again at theThe Great New York 100-mile race on June 21-22. Fanny Chu, Tiger Ellen, Tommy Sung Pyon, Lisa Cao, Jacqueline Choi, Otto Lam and Hideki Kinoshita ,and I will be running, and a bunch of other teammates will be supporting as pacers or crew, including the dashing duo of Annette Vega and Joe Del Conte who continue their streak as the roving aid station, driving around and helping us all night. TGNY 100 is a unique and low-key, underground ultra that celebrates this great city of ours by running a giant loop through 4 boroughs, and it relies heavily on volunteers to man the 18 or so aid stations throughout the course. And MAN is the critical word here. Several wonderful ultra ladies have volunteered to head up overnight aid stations in Brooklyn- from Howard Beach to Borough Hall- but they cant be out there alone in the wee hours. So we need a few (or more) dudes to protect and serve. If youre available, please post your interest on the event page linked below and Trishul (the volunteer coordinator) will get you on board. And dont feel left out if youre a woman and want to volunteer too, youll be more than welcome at any point along the course!
