WANTED: FREEMEN (2) Let me get more practical on this issue by sharing a story I heard from a missionary in Ghana years back. A man visited a local assembly for the first time and had an encounter through the word during the service that day, eventually an altar call was made and he received Christ. Few days later he decided to join them for prayer meeting, after a brief sermon, the prayer session began, this man excused himself to the extreme end of the hall and prayed thus Hi God,am the man that was here yesterday,I also received your son when the altar call was made,do you remember me? I...,this man was still praying when someone who obviously wasnt praying but was listening to his prayers interrupted him by saying Stop that! You dont address God like that! And the man simply asked Was I speaking with you? This is how many have been stripped off liberty by religious experts just the way many have been made to feel less by social experts and success experts. Many have been pushed and exposed to evils just because someone some where judged them by a faulty social or religious standard. I have heard knowledge disseminators in different spheres say things like if you havent done this or that then you are a failure or if you havent achieved this or that at so so age then you wont be able to do it again in life, people hear such things and take them to heart, those words often become the chains that holds them bound till the light comes. It is my prayer that you be released from such chains of darkness and bondage in Jesus name. This is the reason why many will go to any length to meet such targets, forfeiting all that makes for peace, joy, nobility and fulfilment in the process. I find that such statements and nothing more are the drive and motivation in many lives. Even if people who take such things to heart end up meeting the faulty standards, they still experience the great void of purposelessness. Like I stated in the first part of this write up,dont submit yourself to any standard that disregards the phases, transits and pitfalls of your life, their judgements are often blind. Walk in liberty! David.
