WANTED: Project FOUND participants! According to the Alzheimers Association, 6 out of 10 individuals with moderate to severe dementia will wander. ULM’s Department of Gerontology and Department of Criminal Justice are teaming up to help families who have loved ones with dementia to get back home safely. Through a grant, these two entities want to provide training for local law enforcement on interacting with individuals who have dementia as well as provide a FREE Safe Return bracelet registration to those family members diagnosed with the disease. The goal is to register 500 loved ones with dementia in the first year, then 250 in 2015.
