WARNING: RANT AHEAD!! I’m pretty sure the child support system was designed by & is run by men. I rarely get the $212/mo pymnt & when I do it’s bc it was forced. I raise my kids 100% by myself (& always have) & am expected to provide healthcare coverage (at one point was paying >$700/mo) plus all medical/dental bills, child care ($600/mo), & everything else they need. As if this isn’t hard enough, it’s even more difficult when you have a kid with chronic health issues & who grows 2-3x faster than the avg kid & constantly needs new clothes/shoes. So in addition to being 100% responsible for their physical care, I am somehow supposed to make enough $$ to be 100% responsible for their financial care as well. Unless you’ve been in this situation, you can’t begin to understand how hard it is being a total single parent…how do I be there to take care of my kids & be mom AND dad yet also work the ungodly amount of hours it takes to make ends meet?? Even if I did actually get child support, $212/mo doesnt even begin to cover half the costs of raising 1 kid, let alone 2. So I break down & call CSEA for help—they won’t prosecute him bc “he deserves a chance,” I’m advised not to file for support on Jace or redo Jayden’s order bc I won’t get anything since he is a farmer & can make it look like he makes nothing on paper, & if I want him to help pay medical/dental bills then I have to get a lawyer (who costs $$) & take it to court. So CSEA, please continue to give fathers chances while the kids suffer & while the moms kill themselves to take care of their kids.
