WARNING TO OUR FAITHFUL READERS: BEWARE OF FALSE TECHINGS OF WILLIAMS FEMI, A NIGERIAN JUNIOR SEMINARY TEACHER. Williams Femi • Friends with Kweto Dismas and 6 others THE NEW COVENANT The problem is this: most translators ignore the participial construction in Hebrews 8: 10, 11. Here is it correctly translated : this is the covenant which I will appoint WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL after those days, says Master, by CONTINUING TO PUT my law into their intellect( or understanding /mind ),I will also write it on their hearts, and I will as God to them and they will be to me as people. Its clear that God,under the new covenant, writes his law on peoples minds by continuing to put the law into their minds! How? Ephesians 4: 7 - 14 clearly teaches that each believer is given grace according to the measure of the gifts from Christ and that gifted believers are given the church to equip the saints. 1 Corinthians 12: 28 clearly states God appoints gifted people like apostles, inspired speakers, teachers, etc in the congregation. So, God uses this media to put his law or teaching in his peoples minds. However, in Hebrews 8: 11 God revealed why each believer will not need to teach his neighbour: because all will HAVE PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF me from small to great of them. But it doesnt stop there, but goes on with the quotation of Jeremiah 31 in v 12 thus: I will be willing to forgive their injustice ( unrighteousness or hurts )and their illegal acts I never ever remember or make of them.The fact is Jesus instituted the new covenant promised in Jeremiah 31: 31 - 34. For example, Matthew 26: 28, Mark 14: 24, Luke 22: 20 and Hebrews 9: 15, 17, 23,26 clearly taught that Jesus the Messiah established the new covenant with his own literal blood! As regards the house of Israel: contrary to what so many Christian circles teach today, Jesus clearly taught that its the farm labourers that are changed, not the vineyard. How do we know? Please read Matthew 21: 33 - 43. Jesus in verse 33 alluded to Isaiah 5: 1, 2 :if you read Isaiah 5: 7 the Lord clearly said the house of Israel is Gods vineyard and this Jesus had in mind. In Matthew 21: 41 - 43 Jesus asked the chief priests and elders of the people ( see Matthew 21: 23 )what the master of the vineyard will do to the wicked farm labourers? They said he will badly destroy the wicked farm labourers and will give the vineyard to OTHER FARM LABOURERS, who will be productive! In verse 43 Jesus clearly identified the wicked farm labourers as the chief priests and elders in his own time and the vineyard as Gods kingdom- Gods kingdom is to be governed from Jerusalem, the city of the great king Messiah (Matthew 5: 35, quoting Psalms 48: 2 ) . The other farm labourers Jesus identified them as A RACE OR PEOPLE, ethnei in Greek.(This people are no other but the apostles of the Lord, whove left their writings for us.)Today, every gentile believer in Jesus is inserted in the long narrow opening of Gods cultivated olive tree - Israel - from which he or she becomes a joint partaker of the root(source ) of the fatness from the olive tree (the saved Messianic Jewish remnants who rely on Jesus)Romans 11: 17. Thus, they become Abrahams seed - Galatians 3: 7, 29 - and are therefore beneficiaries of Gods covenant with the house of Israel today. Mainstream Christianity has wrongly taught that The church replaced Israel and that Israel is temporarily set aside today: thats not found in the Bible! God promised the new covenant to the house of Israel and Judah only - Jeremiah 31: 31 - and should any Gentile want to benefit from that, he must be inserted into the true remnant of Gods people, the saved Jewish brethren,by believing in Jesus as the Messiah who died for our sins! God has always kept a remnant of true Jewish believers all through their apostasy in Scripture: Paul even mentioned the 7000 Jewish remnants who were still faithful servants of Yahweh - Romans 11: 4. Then he wrote: therefore, in this way also in the present occasion a remnant has come to be according to election of unmerited kindness.Romans 11: 5 So, the new covenant is in force today and there are other aspects that will be fulfilled at the last part of this era we are in. THIS WRITER’S REPLY TO THIS ERRONEOUS VIEW ON THE NEW COVENANT BY WILLIAMS FEMI: I have said in previous articles that Williams Femi is cultic in his beliefs. It is amazing that he is quick to refer to other Bible students anti Christ or unbelievers while he is the one who perverts the Bible with unsurpassed impunity. According to this seminary teacher, Bible translations that have been held reliable over the centuries are wrong. He has questioned the Greek scholarship of the 17th century translators of the King James Version. Wonders never cease to happen. It is not my desire to begin another controversy with this false teacher. It only suffices to encourage my readers to check for themselves in their own Bibles the renditions of Hebrews 8:9-10 to compare with this Williams Femi’s version. It will be noticed that, according to this fake translation, the new covenant is to be made by CONTINUING TO PUT GOD’S LAW INTO MINDS OF his people. Femi says that ,’’It’s clear that God, under the new covenant, WRITES HIS LAW ON PEOPLE’S MINDS BY CONTINUING TO PUT THE LAW INTO THEIR MINDS(whatever that means).’’ He is fond of claiming tat people quote him out of context. Those are his own words. But in verse 9 of Hebrews 8, it is clear that, the new covenant is not according to the one made with the house of Israel when he took them out of Egypt. How Femi arrives at continuity God knows. How MAKING COVENANT turns to be APPOINTING COVENANT, let every reader determine for himself. But, one thing is sure, my beloved brethren, ‘’In that he saith, A new covenant he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and growth old is ready to vanish away.’’(Hebrews 8:13). How that which decays continue to be put in to the minds of God’s people, the Greek scholar Femi knows. As I have said, I will not attempt to answer the whole article, for almost every syllable seems to me to be erroneous. Read for yourselves and make your own conclusions. Charles O. Ndege
