I said this on Tumbler but Ill say it here too: I have been attacked by three dogs in my life, enough to go to the hospital, to get shots, stitches and my neck wrapped up for a month. A golden retriever, a Siberian Akita and another golden retriever/lab mix. I have most of the scars still from those dogs, faded but there and I’m more leery of retrievers then any other dog. Why? Because my aunt’s pit bull FOUGHT A FREAKING MOUSE to protect me and one of my cosines. Pit Bulls were bred, if I remember correctly to protect the kids in families in the old days, working dogs. They have amazing protective instincts, most I know of that aren’t in-bred, are very, very well behaved- so much more then my sisters terriers are. Not to mention, have you ever seen pit bulls and parolees? Even with the sheer abuse pits have under gone, will be starving and walking bones and they still wag their tails and want to be petted. Pit bulls, like many creatures, even snakes, are demonized so unfairly, a dog is a dog and as that above said “A dog is only as dangerous as its owner allows it to be.” Out of all the dogs, I’ve nearly LOST MY EYE at six for walking into a friend of my father’s back yard, and nearly had my THROAT TORN OPEN at 13 for bending over to scratch the ears of a dog that knew me for nearly a month, by freaking retrievers. Not one pit of so many that I’ve met over the years has ever done anything more then a ‘I don’t know you’ warning growl that ALL dogs do no matter the size or breed. Other then being love molested and over-kissed by a puppy pup my fiend had to wake me up, yeah, pit bulls are so dangerous. [pretty sure moms going to spazz reading this] Watch this video, its amazing.
