WARNING !! You may want to change your plans for Sunday Nov 9th !! This certainly sounds as if it will be a mess !! 10K Bay Bridge Run is next Sunday – November 9th from 0700 to 1400 hours with an expected 16,000 to 20,000 runners plus family members, friends and spectators. The race route is from the western shore, across the bridge to Pier One Road, onto RT 8 and ending at the Chesapeake Bay Business Park in Stevensville. The east-bound span will be closed from 0200 to 1400 hours. The west-bound span will be two way traffic (single lane each way) from 0200 to 1400 hours with the center lane for emergency vehicles only. There will also be traffic detours at several locations on RT 8. Expect traffic congestion and allow plenty of time if you need to cross the bay. There will be parking at various locations on both sides of the bay with numerous shuttle buses operating. Again, expect very heavy traffic and delays.
