WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY: COLLEGE OF EDUCATION Department of Educational Leadership, Sport Studies & Educational/Counseling Psychology (Pullman Campus) has an opening for an Assistant/Associate Professor, Multicultural Counseling Psychology (Native/Indigenous) Position Description: The Counseling/Counseling Psychology Program (located within the College of Education in Pullman) is seeking applications for an assistant/associate professor position in a tenure track, 9-month position. The College of Education seeks applicants who can demonstrate a productive line of research or connected to Native/Indigenous populations (including but not limited to: First Nations, Native American/American Indian, Alaska Native, Inuit, Native Hawaiian, Mestizo and Aboriginal) and foster scholarly connections among current department faculty, across the university and in the community. We are looking for candidates who have experience and/or interest in teaching in one or two of the following core areas: theory and counseling techniques; psychopathology, counseling diverse populations, psychological foundations in the biological, cognitive/affective, social, and individual bases of behavior; psychological assessment; group counseling; vocational/career counseling and assessment; and professional and ethical issues. Required Qualifications: Qualified candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. degree in Counseling Psychology or related professional psychology field; degree must be completed by date of hire. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to multicultural counseling and research. Strong candidates will demonstrate the potential to sustain a programmatic line of research (e.g. peer reviewed publication, conference presentations and acquisition of external funding). Preferred Qualifications: We seek faculty members to join our team who can demonstrate the ability to participate in interdisciplinary research with units across campus. Additionally we are seeking faculty members whom are committed to quality teaching within counseling psychology, multicultural counseling, mentoring of graduate students, and provide leadership to the program, College and profession. Candidates should have demonstrated teaching experience and/or interest in one or two of the core areas (see above). We also are seeking applicants who are licensed or license eligible in the State of Washington.
