WASSAIL (Best Hot Apple Cider this side of the Mississippi!) 2¼ cups sugar 4 Cups water Boil above ingredients for 5 minutes to create simple syrup. Remove from heat. 2 sticks cinnamon 8 pieces allspice 10 cloves 1 piece of ginger (approximately 1 peeled) Add above spices to simple syrup. Cover for 1 hour to steep. 6 ounce can frozen orange juice concentrate 3 cans water (from emptied concentrate) 2 cups lemon juice 1 gallon apple cider Just before serving add above ingredients and bring to a boil.
