WATCHING EACH OTHER Situation and problem We live in an age, where social media forces society to be able to create its own images. Thanks to the attention we got from others in our childhood a man creates illusion that the whole world watches him. Social media then makes him maintain this illusion. The result of this is a picture, which is just a scream for attention, unable to communicate with people. Exhibition and voyeurism block interaction and avoid prospective contact in order to maintain individual bliss. Everyone draws attention to each other through form which prevets people from contacting each other. Image has a higher impact than words. The internet offers us an opportunity to react to image by words, but the reaction through words does not attract so much attention as an image. So image dominates and we stop communicating, we are just watching each other. People maintain distance beetween each other thanks to opportunity to watch each other without contact. Like. A tool of passivity and a support of inability to communicate. Like is just a preset for reaction, you cannot impinge in it in any way, you cannot react to it and discourse is not evolving thanks to that. Thanks to that a user who wants to get likes, creates content that connot be evolved by others. Suddenly we are surrounded by posts, which we cannot say anything to. The button serving for storing things we like and marking things by our names functions as a minimal contact which excludes possibility to further a dialog or an opinion. Someone´s real purpose of liking is not to say that he actually likes something, but he wants to relate with something or just to attract attention to himself. Someone does will not like a content posted by another, if he does not want to call that person´s attention to himself. An image as a communicating tool If we would take inability of expression to create interaction as a main problem, than we should establish this factor (ability to interact) as a main scale which would represent succes in social network. Use image to provoke contact, not to let contact be sacrificed by image. An image wont be registrered by anything else, but by the ability of other people to react to it. Inner discourse is a structure of images taken from different resources of social networks users. It is by itself a contact with material of people in social network. This composition does not end by viewing it, it is always open to be extended. Every composition can be contested or extended using images of people on social network. The main question would be what can others do with your image and how they can use it to connect with you to help you extend your content. Individual images in composition are acts, which can implicate something. We ask ourselves what is the cause and effect of the action in the image, we compare and contrast different images or we simply extend the image with our reaction. Because the composition is assembled with images from different sources, there is not only one subject, a man is not a centre of his discourse, this composition assorts together actions of many people in one universal subject, tranformative human. I understand inner discouse as an alternative to words. Words are exhaustible system of symbols, they do not offer to us new possibilities for discourse. When we speak, we tend to use image only as a containter which delivers us into the world. In that point we do not use the expression potential of image. An image of a man who speaks won‘t become an act, we cannot associate the image with anything, it defends itself from extension. The irony of it all is, that a man makes himself an image because he or she needs contact, which is sacrificied by manifestating the possibility to see ourself without contact. My goal is to eliminate this arrogant image, which ignores us, degrades our ability to react and only wants to penetrate our subconscious, to simply inform us, that he exists. Possibility to react to images with images may be an essential sphere for democratic discourse. Allowing others to manipulate our images would gives us reason to value our privacy. Words would maintain in sphere of local, personal interaction, conversation, image will use its stronger impact of international language for social interaction, open for the whole world. Cut ourselvers over and have a higher influence upon each other. My dream is that in the future every image would have the possibility of inner discourse, so it could be available for interaction, which extends use of an image and draws attention to social network which ensures developing democratic opinions which are open for extension or impeachment. Inner discourse is a social network, where every image knows that it is always being offered to people for their own discourse.
