WBFF aftermath.... What an incredible show!! Seriously, it was something else totally. The energy was spot on and its plain to see that this event is going to grow and grow, as the onus is on it being a SHOW with high end production values. My own inclusion was as a photographer on the red carpet initially, then I got a chance to get stuck into the real beef by being a roaming snapper, with a view to showing what goes on behind the scenes. I have over 600 images to weed through but once done, I hope to whittle it down to about 40-50 of the best ones to share as soon as theyve been approved. Theyll tell a broader story than I can ever post here, so for now I just want to give props where theyre due. Firstly to James Conci-Mitchell for being a real friend and supporter. He was the person who suggested I get involved and he was the one who went out of his way to make sure it happened. Im forever saying that if you surround yourself with good people, good things happen. This for me, is aimed at a tight circle of my friends in the industry (they know who they are) but James is right up at the top. Toby Harrison the head photographer, for taking me on board and allowing me me free reign to do what I wanted. Shaun Stafford the organiser, for being so accommodating and easy to work with. James Conci-Mitchell again, for running a tight ship backstage which ensured everything ran like clockwork. He was backed up by a team of unsung heroes who all pulled together to quite simply, get shit done. This included my friends Tom Wright, Fabio Bonanno and Sue Su Farrell. The Diva Sisters (Mirella Clark, Ju Conci-Mitchell and Susie Woffenden) all of whom are now fully fledged WBFF veterans. They were also involved in working their asses off backstage and Mirella was also part of the judging panel. Love those ladies....a real class act and genuinely lovely people. Andy McKenzie, another person whos supported my cause from day one. Although he wasnt directly involved in the event, he was there to watch his girlfriend Lisl Croft take 4th spot in her first outing on stage. He is someone who understands how I tick and he provided laughs and a real level of sanity at the after party. Of course, not forgetting all the athletes who competed. Too many to list, but I hooked up with loads of people I already knew and made friends with a bunch of new ones. Most notable was Donna Maria de Lisser who Ive been FB friends with for a while now, but it was the first time wed actually met in real life. Such a lovely approachable person and no doubt, someone Ill be looking to collaborate with very soon. Not much rest for the wicked. I have to get rid of my headache and get my ass back to the Busy Works Studio for one last shoot with Rachelle West and then a catch up on some quality family time. :) Wherever you are and whatever youre doing, make it count.
