WCCW Recap 07.27.2013 WCCW Reporter General Manager TJ Lightning hit the ring to open the show with a big announcement. WCCW would be “showcasing” some new talent and the fans reactions would help determine if the news guys got a second chance or not. First up was a new guy named Austin Bradley and he had a huge challenge in front of him- Pondo! AUSTIN BRADLEY VS MAD MAN PONDO Pondo was as surprised as the fans that WCCW would put a new comer in the ring with such an international superstar but Bradley seemed up for the challenge. Pondo took control of the match from the start, however, Bradley showed that he wasn’t going to be an easy pin and actually impressed everyone in the WCCW arena….almost. Bradley hit some technical moves; however, Pondo had the strength advantage, along with the ring knowledge to reverse anything Bradley was throwing at him. The match went out of the ring for a bit, however, it seemed that Pondo was just playing with him and was ready to end the match pretty quickly. Pondo hit three huge moves, including two of his signature moves…yet Bradley kicked out of the pin every single time, refusing to be pinned. After the third attempted pin, The Voice came to ringside and Black Rain got the microphone. Everyone was impressed with the new kid, except Rain. Black Rain and The Butcher attacked Bradley and held him up for Pondo to attack, however, Pondo seemed upset that he just got disqualified due to The Voices interference. Pondo went to hit Bradley, but he hit Black Rain instead. The Butcher went to attack Pondo and it looked as though Pondo may be getting a beat down, however, Pondo came off the ropes and hit a huge double clothesline which sent both Rain and The Butcher out of the ring. Bradley wasn’t happy getting his first win that way; however, Pondo gave him his approval. The new kid had a lot of heart and went toe to toe with Pondo and that was impressive. Pondo stated that Rain had an ass kicking coming and then exited ringside to the good guy’s locker room. WINNER – AUSTIN BRADLEY (DISQUALIFICATION) The next match brought another new comer to WCCW to the ring and he was instantly a fan favorite….to hate. LENNOX NORRIS VS TJ LIGHTNING (W/ KENT ROGERS) It didn’t’ take long for TJ to use his quickness to get out of a couple arm locks and run around The Bronze God Lennox Norris; however, it didn’t take long for Norris to use his size and strength advantage to put an end to that. Once Norris got a hold of TJ, there wasn’t much hope and it was clear that Norris was more into hurting TJ then winning the match; he used the bottom rope to choke TJ and made it a point to tell the fans that this wasn’t going to be much of a match. Norris then slammed TJ into the corner and then slung him out of the ring. Once Norris rolled TJ back into the ring, he hit TJ with some vicious elbows to the back. It looked as if Norris had the match locked up, however, TJ has held multiple WCCW championships at once and stepped up to the challenge by hitting Norris with a boot to the face and then flipping around his head several times and ending with a huge DDT. TJ then went to the top rope and hit a huge body splash, however, it wasn’t enough to get the pin. TJ then went to the top rope for a second body splash, however, he took a little too long and Lennox simply stepped out of the way; then he hit The Mold Breaker and got a clean pin. WINNER – LENNOX NORRIS Next up- a match for America! BRANDON TAGGART (CHAMPION) VS BRIAN LAWLESS – USA CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Brian Lawless has been working his way up and this is his chance to prove himself against a WCCW champion. Taggart didn’t become the USA Champion based on looks; the guy knows his way around the ring and it was obvious that he had his game plan ready to go. Lawless and Taggart locked up and Taggart used his size advantage to just shove Lawless across the ring; then he threw him into the corner and turned to do a little bragging. Lawless snuck up behind him and threw a head lock on Taggart and then hit a very nice drop kick and was looking impressive until he tried to football tackle from the ropes. Football tackles between a little guy and a big guy usually never work out well for the little guy and this was no different and as soon as Lawless got up, Taggart hit him with a huge boot to the face that basically bent Lawless in half. Taggart then hit a huge corner splash but went for a second splash and Lawless got out of the way; he then threw some offense together and even hit a nice DDT on Taggart; however, it wasn’t enough. Taggart simply overpowered Lawless and hit the “Red, White and Blue Bomb” and it was over. WINNER – BRANDON TAGGART (RETAINS TITLE) TJ came out to introduce the last two new guys- The Castle Brothers. THE CASTLE BROTHERS VS BLACK RAIN/THE BUTCHER (CHAMPIONS) – NON WCCW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH On Saturday night we got to see a new tag team trying to get on the WCCW roster and they were pretty impressive but they had to go up against the WCCW Tag Team Champions and that isn’t an easy task. I honestly think Black Rain was concerned for the safety of the two new guys, however, the fans seemed to get behind them and everyone agreed that the match should happen. Casey Castle started the match off with Black Rain and he quickly went for an arm lock and they got off to a really good start, even double teaming Rain. Casey flipped Cody over and slammed him down onto Rain but that was about it as far as offense. The Butcher came in and hit Cody with a huge clothesline and then tried to rip his face off with his teeth and then The Butcher and Rain just simply took The Castle Brothers to school on how to be the ideal tag team. Rain and The Butcher double teamed Cody and kept him in their corner and used quick tags to keep a fresh guy in the ring. Black Rain has an amazing way of antagonizing people and while he had Cody in a submission lock, he was telling Casey that he should come in and save his little brother, knowing that as soon as he hit the ring, the ref’s attention would be on him and they could continue the double team. There seemed to be some slight miscommunication with Lexxi again, however, it wasn’t enough to affect the outcome of the match. While it looked to be in the hands of The Voice, Cody did give it his best. He dropped to his butt, slamming the top of his head into The Butcher’s chin to get the tag and Casey came in to clean house however, it wasn’t enough. While Black Rain took Cody out of the ring, The Butcher got a pin over Casey. Even though The Castle Brothers lost the match; they were very impressive against the champions and I expect to see a lot more of them in the future. WINNER – BLACK RAIN & THE BUTCHER “I wish that I was on old Rocky Top….” Tommy Green came to the ring with some more evidence to try to get Lexxi away from the control of Black Rain. Tommy calls Lexxi out and shows her some pictures of Black Rain and The Butcher being lead to the ring by the new girl at a wrestling show that Lexxi knew nothing about. Lexxi was clearly upset but Black Rain came out and grabbed Lexxi and literally dragged her to the back. Once Tommy Green left….the lights went out and Purple Haze started playing. PURPLE HAZE (W/LEXXI) VS JIMMY LAMB Before the match even started, Black Rain came out to take Lexxi to the back; however, she refused to go so The Butcher came out and carried her away. After all the commotion, Haze and Lamb went for each other, trading arm locks and measuring each other up. Not only were they trading moves, they were each chopping the crap out of each other’s chests but Lamb quickly got tired of that and threw Haze into the steel pole at ringside. Haze recovered and they continued to fight out of the ring and barely made it back into the ring to break the ten count. Once back in the ring, Haze ran towards Lamb but he ducked and Haze jumped over him and landed on his knee wrong and sort of fell into the corner. It looked like Haze was hurt and the ref came over to check on him; Lamb tried to continue the match, however, the ref pushed him away a few times and continued to check on Haze however, it didn’t take long to realize that Haze was faking. As the ref was bent over to check on Haze’s knee; he poked Lamb in the eyes and then took advantage of the situation and started working on Lambs leg, using the bottom rope to get extra leverage. Haze then waited for Lamb to get up and he hit two super kicks in a row but Lamb wouldn’t stay down; so he received a third super kick. Haze had the win but refused to pin Lamb. He got a two count but then pulled Lamb up before the three. Haze lined everything up perfectly for a fourth super kick, however Haze missed and Lamb quickly rolled him up in a small package for the three count. Lamb got the win, however, he was left lying in the middle of the ring when Bob Murdoch came out and almost took his head off. WINNER – JIMMY LAMB The final match of the night was for the WCCW Championship! RAVISHING RONNIE ROBERTS (W/ATM) VS ALEX ANGEL (CHAMPION) – WCCW CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Before the match began, TJ came to the ring and forced ATM to leave ringside in order to ensure a fair match. Before ATM left ringside, TJ requested a KY Title rematch, however ATM refused and stated that TJ has to work his way back up the ladder. Since TJ isn’t the number one contender, he set up a “Loser Wears A Diaper” match for next week. ATM left ringside extremely angry. There wasn’t much of an entrance for Alex Angel; there was no walking around the ring, no shaking hands and no kissing babies; there was just one pissed off Angel. Angel ran to the ring and brutally attacked Roberts and then hit a huge clothesline that sent Roberts over the top rope and slammed him down onto the concrete. Angel didn’t stop the attack there, he followed Roberts out of the ring and hit several chops and then slammed him into the steel pole at ringside. Angel then picked Roberts up and slammed him against the pole, back first and then slung him, shoulder first into the pole a third time. Angel then rolled Roberts back into the ring and continued the attack with ten elbows to Robert’s chest. Roberts, out of desperation, tried to pick Angel up and fell backwards, dropping his neck onto the top rope which was almost a metaphor for what was about to happen. Roberts took control of the match and quickly took it to the outside of the ring in order to get a little payback by slinging Angel into the steel pole, however, Angel reversed it and slung Roberts into the pole again! Then Angel hit him with some huge kicks, however, Roberts raked Angel’s eyes and took control. Roberts quickly started working on Angel’s neck by choking him. Angel tried for a running bulldog, however, Roberts simply picked him up and put him on the top ropes and went for a sliding drop kick, however, Angel moved and Roberts slid into the corner pole, privates first. Both guys were on the ground and wore out and it looked like they may both be counted out, however, Angel rolled over and got a submission move on Roberts but he was too close to the ropes. Once Roberts got up, Angel hit him with a huge spin buster to set up the Go To Hell. Angel picked Roberts up in the Go To Hell but he reversed it and hit Angel with two super kicks but only got a two count. Roberts then hit Angel with his own finisher, the Go To Hell and went for the pin. While the action was going on in the ring, ATM was crawling around the ring. Angel put his foot on the rope to break the pin, however ATM knocked it down before the ref could see it and Roberts got the three count. The ref gave Roberts the belt and we have a new WCCW Champion! As Angel tried to get to his feet, Roberts hit him with the belt right in the face. Robert’s got his rope and hung Angel over the top rope again, only this time, he tied the rope to the top rope of the ring and left him hanging there. Santa tried to untie the rope, however, Roberts and ATM came out and stopped him. Finally TJ came to the ring with a chair and was trying to get Roberts and ATM out, while Angel was still hanging by the rope, foaming from his mouth and his face turning purple. TJ finally got the rope untied and some guys from the back came out to help. Angel was passed out, so the guys were carrying him to the back when Roberts and ATM came out again and attacked everyone- even the announcer Billy Brewster. There were too many guys out there so they got Roberts and ATM to the back but the damage had been done. WCCW guys were laying everywhere, Angel was passed out on the concrete, Billy Brewster was out on the concrete and Roberts is the new WCCW Champion! WINNER – RAVISHING RONNIE ROBERTS
