WE WERE YOUNG... TIMS TIMSS. We were young,we were young we played with soil and air slept on the grass at noon we dozed off on the sofa and woke up in our beds we watched wrestling on tuesdays and loved chapatis and beans we were young,we were young we faked illness on schooldays when sleep proved so nice we learnt our first lessons on language believed everything about religion we took ice during break time waited for the lunch-time bell we were young,we were young we made our first ties washed shirts for the first time we polished shoes at night hid in the dormitory at dawn we went for our first outings whispered our first words of love her name was Ivy. we were young ,we were young we encountered our first heartbreaks cheated on our girlfriends for the first time it was new,it was young to keep falling in and out of love meeting matches in campus ,or nightclubs comparing the sweetness of lips tasted we were young,we were young we did not know much about art thought it all just prose and moods of poems we had not visited art galleries we had not paintings or sculpture on our walls now i see it was all we had we did not have to look elsewhere nostalgia.
