WEATHER FOR CAST FOR THE UK. from the MET OFFICE Headline: Mostly dry and bright. Isolated showers, mainly in the north. Today: For many it will be a dry and bright day with some warm spells of sunshine, and calmer winds than of late. A few isolated showers may develop at times, particularly across western Scotland and Northern Ireland this afternoon. Tonight: Some late sunshine across southern parts. Showers will ease and clear most parts this evening, with the exception of northern Scotland, to give a dry night with clear spells. Wednesday: Most places will start dry and bright, and some good sunny periods are expected. A scattering of showers will develop through the day, these most likely across eastern parts. Updated: 0315 on Tue 25 Jun 2013 Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: Rain in the northwest will spread to all parts through Thursday, but will become lighter. Often cloudy with temperatures near normal, but feeling warm where any cloud breaks occur. UK Outlook for Saturday 29 Jun 2013 to Monday 8 Jul 2013: There should be a good deal of dry weather for many through the weekend, with variable cloud and sunny spells. There may be some outbreaks of rain in central and eastern areas at first, this will soon clear, with further rain reaching the northwest by Sunday. Maximum temperatures likely to be around or a little above normal, becoming warm in some central, eastern and southeastern parts. During the following week it should stay dry and warm in the southeast at first. Elsewhere it will become rather more unsettled, with showers, locally heavy with a chance of thunder, moving in from the west. Later in the week it becomes unsettled for most, with the more frequent and prolonged spells of rain in the north. Temperatures generally around normal and becoming breezier. UK Outlook for Tuesday 9 Jul 2013 to Tuesday 23 Jul 2013: On balance this period looks set to see fairly typical British summer weather. Conditions will most likely remain rather changeable with some spells of rain or showers at times, but also some dry, fine and pleasant days mixed in, particularly across the south. Temperatures probably remaining close to average, but feeling pleasantly warm in the sunnier intervals.
