***WEATHER UPDATE*** The Meteorological Service is reporting that Tropical Storm Chantal has become disorganised and could weaken into a Tropical Wave later today. At 4:00 a.m. the centre of Tropical Storm Chantal was located near Latitude 16.5 degrees north and Longitude 69.5 degrees west or about 225 kilometres south of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Chantal is moving toward the west northwest near 46 kilometres per hour. The Met Service says this general motion with a decrease in forward speed is expected through tonight. A turn towards the northwest is expected on Thursday followed by a turn towards the north northwest in the night. On the forecast track, the centre of Chantal will be near or over Hispaniola later today, eastern Cuba by early Thursday and near central Cuba by late Thursday. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 75 kilometres per hour with higher gusts. Tropical Storm Chantal is not a threat to Jamaica at this time. #adminbb
