WEDNESDAY 24-09-14 TOPIC: CHANGE YOUR IDENTITY BY THE WORD. SCRIPTURE: And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Matt. 16:17 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Word has the capacity to change your identity. When you get in touch with the Word of God, it connects you to the blessing of God. Jesus blessed Peter in Mathew 16:17 because he got the revelation of the Word (Jesus Christ). Just because Peter got a revelation of who Jesus is (Jesus is the Word of God), he got a supply of the blessing. Every time the blessings of God arrive, the curses of life must depart. Before then, his name was called Simon and Simon means ‘sea grass’ but Jesus changed his name from Simon to Peter. Peter means petrous - rock. He said ‘You were grassy before but now you are rocky.’ Put in another way, He said, ‘I have ‘degrassified’ you and ‘Rockified’ you.’ It is the ‘degrassification’ of Peter and the ‘rockification’ of Simon. At the instance of one light from God, his identity, destiny and entire future changed. Because he saw something from the Word, the blessing came and changed his life. Reverence, respect and approach the Word of God with the mentality that It carries a blessing that can exempt you from curses and change your life. Beloved, if you are tired of who and what you used to be, the Word of God can turn and change you into who you are meant to be. Remember this: the Word has the capacity to change your identity. ASSIGNMENT (S): 1. Reverence and respect the Word so that you may obtain the blessing. 2. Change your life today by seeking for and receiving revelation from the Word of God.
