WEDNESDAY , SEPTEMBER 25, 2013 FIRST READING Ezra 9 , 5-9 At the time of the evening sacrifice I rose from his humiliation , the torn robe and cloak fell to my knees, pulled out his hands to the LORD my God , and said, " My God, I was very ashamed , my God, lift his face to you, because we have risen above offenses head, and the wine we flew into the sky . From the days of our fathers to this day we have a great wine list. we, the kings , our priests were handed over for our transgressions under the authority of the kings of the lands , to the sword , to captivity , the despoiling and up to public ridicule , as it is today . and now, just for a moment came mercy of the Lord our God, in that it left us with a handful of survivors , in his holy place gave us a roof over our heads , that our God has brightened our eyes and to let us in our bondage little relief - because we are slaves . but not our bondage our God has left us , but he gave us to find favor with the kings of Persia , allowing us to revive that we can raise house of our God, and to rebuild its ruins - giving us refuge in Judah and Jerusalem. God punishes and shows mercy , * Abyss sends to the ground and is derived from the great abyss . * And there is no one to escape his hand. You are very great , living for ever. Because he has scattered you among the nations . * and he has shown his greatness , praise him get out in front of all life , * because He is the Lord our God . You are very great , living for ever. And now look at what he has done , * and praise him with a loud voice , Bless the Lord of justice * and exalt the King of the ages. You are very great , living for ever. And I will praise him in the land of my exile * and the nation of sinners tell of his power and size . Repent , sinners , † and Conduct yourselves righteousness before him , * Who knows, maybe our fancy and you will show mercy to you . You are very great , living for ever. GOSPEL Lk 9: 1-6 Then I summoned the Twelve and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He said to them, " Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor travel bag , nor bread, nor money , nor can keep your two tunics Whatever house you enter, stay there, and there you go . If you where not adopted Come out of this town and shake the dust from your feet for a testimony against them ! " So they went out and went through the towns , preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
