WEDSTOCK 2014: This weekend, it was my privilege to be invited to the hand fasting/wedding of my great friends Si PT Wood and Angie Pangie. For me, it will go down, not only as one of the great events of this year, but probably one of the most wonderfully memorable days of my entire life. Already Im liking the idea of reminiscing about it in my comfy armchair, sucking my Werthers Originals when the Coventrian homes for the aged and bewildered, let me take up residency in one of their homes. The groom looked very dapper indeed in his steampunk costume and he is one of the chaps one ends up liking even more every time you meet with him. Hes an incredibly kind,welcoming and loyal friend. The bride looked even more amazing than she usually does and believe me folks that is saying something. What an amazing dress!!! as with her husband, shes someone its impossible not to warm to as she too is very kind, loyal, and full of life. The ceremony was just magical. Then came the live music. David Sanders and Marc Hammond did their usual splendid set (if you havent yet got a copy of Davids excellent new EP now is the time) and music for the first dance was provided by Chris Hartry Paul Hartry Chris Harps Lizzy Coughlan and Claira Bella. I was particularly delighted to hear Claire sing again and she proved that in terms of singing she is every bit the equal of her younger sister. She hinted to me after the show that there may be more to come. I really hope there will be. They sang the below song replacing youre not the one for me with you are the one for me. Finally Id like to add my special thanks to the brides mum. She approached and enquired Are you Carl? I confirmed that I was. She then told me how she enjoyed reading the bulletins. I was properly chuffed and choked as I had no idea she even read them. Thank you so much Angies mum!!
